Operator and scope
These terms apply between you and [legal operator name, address and country — confirm], operating Kenkui. Contact [support email — confirm]. They cover hosted Studio. The open-source library and self-hosted software remain subject to their respective software licenses.
The service
Kenkui converts supported, DRM-free EPUB files into downloadable audiobooks using synthetic speech. Available narration modes and models depend on the server. Rendering time varies with book length, settings and queue load; progress is shown in Studio. Speech and character attribution can contain errors. Audition the sample voices and review your settings before starting.
Your account and content
Keep your sign-in secure. Upload only material you have the rights or permission to process. A DRM-free file is not by itself proof of permission. Do not use the service to infringe copyright, impersonate people deceptively, violate privacy or other rights, or process unlawful content. Kenkui does not remove DRM or provide public sharing of uploaded books.
You retain your existing rights in your material. You authorize us and our service providers to process it as necessary to operate the requested conversion and deliver the result. These terms do not grant rights in a book, a person’s voice or third-party material that you did not already have.
Credits and purchases
Credit packs are one-time purchases, with no subscription or automatic renewal. The pricing page shows pack contents and USD prices. Checkout shows applicable tax and any local-currency total before payment. Credits are added after payment confirmation; a return to Studio alone is not confirmation.
Studio shows the current conversion estimate before you start. Credits are reserved at submission and consumed on successful completion. Failed or cancelled conversions release the reservation. Credit prices for future purchases and conversion rates may change; the applicable quote is confirmed before a conversion starts.
The draft pack schedule is $5 USD for 500 credits, $10 USD for 1,100 credits, and $20 USD for 2,400 credits, before tax. The latter packs include 100 and 400 bonus credits. Credits buy rendering within Kenkui; a displayed standard-rate equivalent is not a cash balance.

Payments through Link
Purchases use Stripe Managed Payments and are sold through Link, which handles checkout, transaction support and receipts under its payment terms. Kenkui remains responsible for product support. Link may issue refunds in accordance with its terms and applicable consumer protections.
Delivery and retention
- Completed audiobooks: available for download for 30 days after completion, then eligible for deletion. Save your M4B locally.
- Uploaded sources: eligible for deletion 24 hours after all conversions using them finish. Uploads never submitted for conversion become eligible 24 hours after upload.
- Temporary render objects: eligible for deletion 24 hours after their processing attempt finishes.
Scheduled cleanup removes eligible files; it does not run at the exact moment a retention period ends. Keep your original EPUB and downloaded audio. Removing a book from Studio’s local library does not itself request deletion of server records.
Voice and output rights
The hosted VCTK voice selection and its attribution are described on Credits & references. The source dataset’s license is separate from software licensing, book copyright and rights associated with an individual speaker. Do not claim that a speaker endorses you or your output. Commercial distribution requires the relevant rights for your particular use.
Problems, suspension and consumer rights
Contact support with your job or purchase identifier if the service does not work as described. We may restrict access to address misuse, security incidents or legal requirements. Changes and applicable law
